The Lucky Art of Saint Patrick's Day

Bust out your limericks and get ready for Saint Patrick’s Day, when New York City turns into an ocean of shamrocks. This annual bash is certainly the grandest in all of March. A formation of the fighting Irish march down Fifth Avenue, but there’s a great deal more to it than that.

The Irish Arts Center throws open its doors a little ahead of the starting line with an extravaganza dedicated to the Irish cultural arts. Come where the air is filled with authentic music, in addition to dance, craft workshops, and tasty teas. Learn to play the tin-whistle while you’re at it!

March 17th @ 1:00 pm

Hop on the subway to Rockaway Beach for a kickstart to the green holiday, which includes grand marshals and respected members of the community. For early birds there’s also a mass in the spirit of peace and justice at Saint Francis de Sales church, beginning at 10:30 in the morning.
